Today's update separates three moments. The announcement was published September 28; pre-orders were announced for September 29 at 10 a.m. local time; and the game remains dated for February 16, 2027 on PS5. None of those dates is a fictional event.
In the story, God of War Laufey follows Faye after her death while Kratos and Atreus begin the journey known from God of War (2018). That locates the announced premise but does not reveal every connection to Ragnarök, the full plot or the finished game's length.
The U.S. product page confirms platform and release date, but its FAQ still carries generic copy saying pre-orders would open closer to launch. The September 28 announcement is the newer evidence, and the mismatch remains documented instead of being silently erased.
Pre-order now; release in February

PlayStation announced September 29, 2026 pre-orders at 10 a.m. local time and kept God of War Laufey's February 16, 2027 PS5 release date. The post also details editions and parts of Faye's combat kit.
Pre-orders, platform, release date, editions and described mechanics are announcement facts. NERDEXA has not played the game, reviewed its quality or projected commercial performance.
